Dear Senedd Members,

I welcome the comments made in the letter from Wales Environment Link and share their grave concern at the lack of progress made by the Welsh Government to better protect MPA's from the damaging effects of bottom trawling fishing gears.

Surely COP 26 must have added extra urgency for the setting up and strengthening of Welsh MPA's.

We desperately need political leadership which will give the protection our seas so desperately need.
